February 10, “Sobranie” casino, a flagman of the gambling zone “Yantarnaya”, was officially opened in Kulikovo, an area not far away from Kaliningrad, which is on the coast of the Baltic Sea.
The said gambling zone appears to be one of the biggest casinos of the European continent. It is located on 5.5 hectares of land just next to the coastline. The total area of the casino accounts for 18 000 sq. km. The grand opening was marked by a marvelous concert featuring popular Russian stars such as Christina Orbakaite and “Serebro” music band.
2.5 billion of rubles were invested into the development of casino facilities. Currently, the funds are being invested into the finishing works of the VIP complex that have been planned to be opened by the third quarter of 2017. The total amount of money invested into the casino accounts for 3.5 billion of rubles.
The key areas of the casino such as the main hall of 3600 sq.km, rooms for privileged guests and concert stage are open 24/7. There are also two restaurants under the brand “Offshore”: one of them specializes in the European cuisine and exclusive chef meals, while the other one is targeted at fast food segment and locally crafted alcohol drinks.
There is a wide range of slot machines accounting for around 350 and 14 gambling tables. According to the general plan, the quantity of slot machines will be increased up to 1 thousand, while the number of tables will reach 40.
The conceptual design of the casino was provided by a well-known company Steelman Partners, previously involved in elaboration of different projects in Las Vegas (United States) and Macau (China). The architectural concept of the project is based on the Baltic Sea and old Königsberg themes.
According to the owners of “Sobranie”, by opening this gambling house they have created than 500 workstations in terms of the brand new sector of local economy. As it was previously estimated by the management of the company, as soon as the facility starts functioning to its full potential, there will be employed another 900 people.
According to the regional authorities, the appearance of this gambling zone has marked the launch of the new large-scale project under the working title “Novyi Gorod”, that is expected to extend over the area of 600 hectares. Introduction and launch of this project will promote tourism and contribute greatly to the development of the region.
