EiG 2017: Good bye Berlin

EIG 2017 – the number one iGaming event closes in Berlin. During the event, there were an exhibition of iGaming innovations and a conference participated by representatives of leading companies in the industry.

They were discussing the future and several hot issues of the gambling market. Depending on the subject matter, the debates took place at three platforms: future – Neo 2027, today – Legacy 2017, technology – Moment.

INNOVATION RISKS AND OPTIONS

The issue of industry development was raised at all three spots. In particular, industry analysts have presented new opportunities for business growth, including improved data quality, development of new types of bets, and integration with new devices.

The speakers also shared their experience in market innovation by describing the risks and obstacles they faced.

COMMUNICATION WITH CUSTOMERS

The same amount of hype emerged around the discussion on bonuses, which are used to attract new customers. "Bonuses reduce the margins of business, and because of the high competition in the market, their effectiveness is unknown", – the participants noted. Alternative methods of attracting audiences were also presented during the meeting.

Another site held a discussion on communication with clients. Three aspects were considered there: New ways to communicate with the audience, importance of data management, and understanding of player's needs.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The problem of gambling regulation became the topic for another discussion. In a number of countries, operators are required to assume responsibility for all third parties with whom they contract. The Working Group considered ways to address this issue.

The parties discussed the European regulatory innovations, taxation and licensing. In addition, the meeting addressed key aspects of the 4th Anti-Money-laundering directive, as it could affect the operation of online casinos and how to be fully prepared for this update.

FUTURE OF PAYMENTS

At this discussion platform, experts and market leaders spoke about the future of online payments and the problems that the iGaming market still faces. During the meeting, they made decisions that will shortly be available in the payment market.

Such instruments, together with the experts' views, will help operators to become more competitive in the future.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

The entire day was devoted to considering the principles of work and ways of using blockchain in the gambling industry. The participants overviewed the risks and benefits of this technology, as well as its prospects for development.

With an example of a real blockchain casino, the experts answered the main question: Can traditional operators compete with the opportunities of casinos and bookmakers on blockchain? As the result of the deliberations, the industry experts identified the right time to invest in this technology.

ESPORTS POTENTIAL

As a new type of betting – on eSports – is being developed, most operators rise questions concerning the possible risks of joining the system. During the discussion, industry experts pointed out a number of ongoing issues: Which games to focus on, which age group to orient, and whether the market is ready for a new kind of betting.

STARTUP CONTEST

The platform of Neo 2027 summed up the Start-up Launchpad competition, during which 5 finalists of presented their projects to a group of iGaming experts.

Audience voting defined the best one. Therefore, the winner became eSports.com – a portal aiming to be the largest and single platform for eSports lovers. It will offer coaching services from professional players, charity tournaments with celebrities, class stats, and its own cryptocurrency.

The following companies were also struggling for the title of the most innovative startup 2018:

  • BotGaming is a blockchain game platform for bot-messengers;
  • Chalkline Sports – an intelligent fan monetization platform empowers operators to own the thumb of every sports bettor through three product lines;
  • Contrarian Investments – a sports competition in Nevada on behalf of investors, and the conversion of sportsbetting into an asset class;
  • Relex Studios – an HTML5 technology to replace Flash.

There were three incredible days – from 30 October till 1 November – spent by Slotegrator team at the exhibition. Our representative, the leading development manager, Vadim Potapenko, presented the special protocol for game integration, as well as new solutions to start online casino.

IGB LIVE!

The organizers of the exhibition announced the closure of EiG as a separate project. In 2018, EiG will be held together with iGaming Super Show and the Amsterdam partner conference. The combined event to be called iGB Live!

"Creating IGB Live! is part of the commitment we have made to streamline the calendar of events and to provide interested parties with a unique opportunity to participate in the entire iGaming space within one event", – EiG stated.

iGB Live! will be the largest specialized exhibition and conference in the field of iGaming. The first iGB Live! to be held from 17 to 20 July 2018 at the Amsterdam Conference Centre of RAI.
