Georgia Gaming Congress Results

March 1 Tbilisi hosted the third Georgia Gaming Congress. The event raised some of the main issues related to land based and online casino promotion, betting business, as well as fantasy games and virtual reality technologies. Additionally, the speakers brought up a couple of relevant topics connected with blockchain development and implementation, capital investment projects, etc.

The participants of the Congress included government officials responsible for development and regulation of the gambling industry in Georgia, as well as leading software developers, hardware producers, operators, owners of casinos and betting companies, and other experts of the gaming branch.

Among the reasons explaining partial presence of licenses are projections and plans to approach new gambling markets. Such an approach guarantees sustainable business growth: players feel more secure, if operators are licensed by an acknowledged regulator.

Zakaria Khitarishvili outlined the key aspects of creating a successful product for the online gambling sector. In addition, the speaker told about visual and sound effects used to motivate people to play, giving them more pleasure, and making them stay at a particular gambling house.

Lasha Machavariani spoke about: "Differences in building online casino business models".

Francesco mentioned that lately gamblers started playing in a dishonest manner, and explained to operators some of the ways of detecting and avoiding cheating.

A leading sales manager at Slotegrator, Vadim Potapenko, made a presentation on “Implementation of chat bots in gambling”.

"One of the problems is in conclusion of labor contracts without setting certain timelines. Another difficulty is making payments for working overtime. By law, companies have to pay, but the majority of them don´t do it until trialed”,- said the expert.

According to the speaker, many employees are dismissed orally, although, by law such process must be done in an official written form. On this occasion, there have been a lot of court proceedings.

In Batumi two casinos went bankrupt and did not inform the workers about it. Sometimes employees are fired for their participation in gambling tournaments (for example, poker).
