More than 0.5 million new users are daily signing up in Telegram

Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, stated on his Twitter page that the daily increase of users concluded 600 000 people.

It is considered as a record-braking data collected among instant messaging applications. Durov stressed that the number of registered users doubled during the beginning of the current year. After 4 years of operation, the messenger attracted 1.2 billion active users worldwide.

"Telegram celebrated the fourth birthday with figures of 600 thousand new users every day", – wrote Durov in his Twitter on August 14.

Previously, Telegram defended its right of anonymity following the June 2017 incident caused by demands of Russian authorities during June 2017, when Roskomnadzor intended to block the messaging app.
