Belarus to scale back tax on gambling business in 2018
The Ministry of Tax and Duties of the Republic of Belarus suggested adjusting an approach to gambling business taxation as the Deputy Minister for Taxes and Levies, Vladimir Mukvich, reported.
“There has been a significant decrease in the number of facilities subject to taxation, which, of course, worries us. But mostly it is connected not with changes in tax legislation, but a certain decline observed in this area. On behalf of our Ministry, we will offer the Finance Ministry to index the tax rate of these facilities (gambling establishments - BeITA) in a smaller amount than anticipated,”– the Deputy Minister explained.
“Attendance at gambling establishments effects an amount of payments in the area. We are currently working on the proposals for the following year. This year, we cannot change the taxation,” Vladimir Mukvich said.
Recall, as of 1 January 2017, the tax rate on gambling, applied to the bookmaker’s betting shop, increased by 2.3 times.
