Online casino legalization law comes into force in Belarus
1 April 2019, the law “On the improvement of legal regulation of the gambling business” signed by the president Alexander Lukashenko on 7 August 2018 comes into force in Belarus. According to this law, the activities of online casinos are legal.
It will allow local entrepreneurs to operate on the virtual gambling market legally. The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus will examine whether the online gambling projects correspond to the requirements.
In addition, the law provides the legalization of online betting terminals and bookmakers. To get permission to organize online gambling, an entrepreneur must be a legally registered person and obtain an official license.
Also, on a special bank account, the operator should have a security deposit, which in the case of its financial insolvency will guarantee mandatory payments to the state and players.
Online casino legalization in Belarus is another step towards the gambling industry development in the country and it is an additional source of the state budget replenishment.
